Rumi Persian Restaurant
Beijing | 510 sqm | 2007
This restaurant is a contemporary treasure chest evocative of the poetry of the 13th Century Persian mystic, Rumi. Full height mirrors, etched with Rumi’s poems, enhance verticality and reflect natural light; soft tones of golden yellow and lilac host accents of Persian blue; details of gold mirror mosaic appear in doors and cabinetry; white lacquer screens hang from the ceiling like ‘flying carpets’ with Persian lattice work; and photos of Persian artists appear in translucent glass frames.
