Beyond providing basic enclosures for living, working, healing, learning,... what is the power of space? Can space inspire meaningful conversations? How can space-making revive the spirit of craft? How can space be meaningful as well as functional and beautiful? These are among the subjects addressed in last Sunday afternoon’s seminar at KWM Art Center in Beijing, where some 50 invited guests enjoyed an engaging and participative discourse on the multidimensional power of space. Adam Robarts, from Robarts Spaces, was the guest speaker and moderator, weaving together questions from the audience and presentations from artist Li Tao (whose exhibition of constructivist collages provided the setting for the seminar) and product designer Henny van Nistelrooy of Studio HVN.
