Members of our Healthcare team traveled to the United States to receive an award as a winner of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) 2016 Healthcare Interior Design Competition. This competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces. Robarts Spaces won the category of Ambulatory Care Centers – Outpatient Clinics for the Jiangsu Immigration & International Travel Hygiene Center in Nanjing, China.

“The winners of this year’s IIDA Healthcare Interior Design Competition created exceptionally designed environments that are positively impacting the wellbeing of the patients treated in these facilities as well as their families and those who work there. With more research showing the link between design and positive patient outcomes, these designers are making a tremendous impact on the healthcare industry,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP.

The jury panel reviewing this year’s competition included Michelle Clark, IIDA, RID, LEED AP (Senior Associate, Rees Associates Inc.); Suzen L. Heeley (Executive Director, Design + Construction, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center); and Lisa Herriott, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C (Interior Designer, Project Manager, UW Medicine | Harborview Medical Center).
